Frequently asked questions.
Do you travel for weddings?
Heck yes! Combining my love for travel and photos!? Fulfill my dreams, please! But seriously, yes… I travel often for weddings. I’m fortunate to live in such a beautiful state, but dang, is it a big one! It takes roughly 12 hours to drive from one side to the other, and while I’d like to always sleep in my van, locations 3 hours or more away mean I will need lodging and fuel. Any travel outside MT will be calculated based on location.
I may waive travel expenses entirely if your wedding is a location on my bucket list. What locations are on my bucket list? ANYWHERE BUT MONTANA! Warm please!
do you have liability insurance?
I sure do! Many venues require vendors to carry liability insurance, and I’m happy to send them proof of coverage. I’ve never had an issue and (fingers crossed) hopefully never will, but rest assured you never have to worry about something going wrong or about liability with me.
Do you work with a second shooter?
My husband is my second shooter of choice, but if he is unavailable [ the Army takes him away from me sometimes :..( ] then I work with other photographers in the community at the cost of $50 per hour.
The better question may be, “Do I need a second shooter?” While I have photographed countless weddings on my own, ensuring that all the angles are covered, especially during the first look and ceremony, isn’t a bad idea.
Do you work with videographers?
They get in my way a lot, but luckily, I basically own one… I mean… married to one: James Rolin with RolinWild Media.
All joking aside, I have worked with many videographers. If you decide to hire a videographer, I’d love it if you could share their name with me so that I can connect with them to ensure the smoothest day possible for you.
how many weddings have you photographed?
At the end of 2023 I actually added it up. So far… 50. Needless to say if you have questions, then I probably have the answers. Every wedding is unique, which is the exciting part, but I can help guide you into a flow that works for both of us.
what happens if your equipment breaks?
That would be unfortunate, but I always come prepared. My husband and I have created quite an arsenal of photo gear. We now have 4 top of the line cameras, 5 flashes, a flood light for low-light situations, every lens you can think of, gimbals, tripods, microphones, an aerial drone (and an FAA license to go with it!), and more memory cards than I have memories left in my brain. Don’t worry… we gotchu!
