What to Wear!?

Love Color!? So do I! But some colors cause what’s called, color casting. Also, I want your images to be timeless, free of fads and true to my brand. The best colors to wear for your session are neutrals and jewel tones. Bright neon colors will cast a glow on your skin that’s extremely difficult to get rid of in editing. The same is true if we are around a lot of bright flowers and plants! When in doubt, keep it neutral. Blacks, navy, beige, gray, white, maroon, denim, emerald green, mustard yellow, plum and rust are all fantastic colors.

Stay away from shirts with heavy patterns or text. As cute as your sons spiderman shirt is, he will have to put it away for now.

Long gone are the days where everyone wore the same outfits in portraits. Mix it up! Show your personality! Just make sure the colors work well together! I want your images to be happily hung on your family’s walls for years to come! More comfortable in jeans, wear jeans! Want your images to have a boho feel? Wear tans, a hat and boots! Want drama and glamour? Wear a flowy dress or a suit! Dresses can invoke a romantic feel, and look oh so pretty when you twirl! Want to look taller? Wear shoes with a heal! Want to look leaner? Three quarter sleeves can slim down the arms a lot! Think comfort when selecting your outfits. If your cleavage is showing (hey girl I’m jealous!), maybe a different shirt would be better. I’m very interactive during our shoots and will have you moving, so keep that in mind!

Layers! Jewelry, denim jackets, sweater wraps. These types of layers can be an easy add on and add flair and personality!

Hands! There may be time where I will want to photograph your hands. Do a quick check to make sure all chipped paint is off, and your nails are clean and freshly polished!

Cell phones, glasses and hair ties! Cellphones can cause some abnormal bulging; glasses need to be cleaned well to prevent glare and hair ties can be a pain to shop out.

PHEW! Almost their guys! Thanks for hanging in there with me!
